John is a retired professor of Psychiatry from Michigan State Univesity who has devoted much of his career to study the grieving process and how it differs from depression and traumatization. John is a clinical psychologist with a special focus on people with physical illness and facing other major life transitions such as divorce, dying and retirement, to name a few. In private practice for the past ten years after an early retirment, he consults with various organizations around the world, and lectures and conducts workshops.
